Cinco de Mayo

One year ago today I was trying to swallow down a piece of toast and some oatmeal in preparation for our trip to the hospital for Harper's induction. We were all nervous smiles and anxious chatter, but we were ready. Well, as ready as you can be anyway.

And so the long day began.

To be continued...

Seems like yesterday. No joke. I can't believe it's been a whole freakin' year. What a day that was. And what a beautiful little lady came from it...albeit a little later than we thought. ;)

Oh my goodness! First, you look so perfectly lovely that I want to slap you (gently and with a follow up kiss on the cheek) for looking so good in the midst of labor! Next, look at Harper sticking out in that tummy! Your belly looks so big (NOT YOU, just your perfectly wonderful prego belly!) How big was she?

Well, Miss Marsha, that is awfully sweet of you, but that was 200 pounds of "perfectly lovely" that wasn't feeling very perfect or very lovely at that point. We had to boot Harper out of there because she was 10 days past her due date, so we weren't really in the midst of labor yet. We were just getting started with the induction at that point. I think there's at least one "after" photo in the next post where I actually look like I've done a bit of work. :)
